After a grueling seven months of studying and training towards my certification, I thought I'd spoil myself a little. Granted, I haven't heard yet if I've passed my exam or not -- crossing my fingers! -- but I thought a little retail therapy was well deserved. And ULTA was calling out to me with their 20% entire purchase coupon for Platinum members...so I had to!

One of the exciting purchases I made was the new Makeup Revolution Matte Blushes (Regular retail: $5). They might not be new in other parts of the world, but it was definitely new to me when I spotted it on the ULTA website. I've heard things here and there about Makeup Revolution, and I've seen so many of their Urban Decay-like eyeshadow palettes--nothing but good things. And while their blush and bronzing palettes were more popular than their single blushes, I decided to pick up only two individual colors: Beloved and Fusion.

L: Fusion, R: Beloved

Top: Fusion, Bottom: Beloved

On ULTA's website, the shades are described as follows:

  • Fusion: Pink and red create a Fusion of standout color in this juicy cheek color.

  • Beloved: A color as fresh as summer melon, your Beloved comes in the form of this soft coral hue.

They feel so creamy to the touch...almost to the point where they might be chalky? The swatches above were heavily applied, so they might not be as pigmented on the cheeks at first sweep. But they do look easily buildable. The pan size is really generous, and with these blushes being only $5 each, I'd say they're a steal!

I also picked up the new LORAC pro matte palette (Regular retail: $28). It's so stinking cute and sleek. Perfect for traveling!

(NO PRIMER) L to R: Linen, Pink Mauve, Burgundy, Jet Black, Bare, Latte, Curduroy, Chocolate

LORAC never fails in the eyeshadow department, so it was no surprise that these shadows are so buttery and pigmented. Although the pans are slightly smaller (total net weight: 0.144oz) in comparison to the pans in the LORAC pro palette one/two (total net weight: 0.32oz), I feel like these babies will last you a good while. There may be some kickup with the shadows from their formula, but you hardly need any product on your brush to get pigment payoff.

I have a video up on these products if you're curious! I show you two of the many looks you could do with the LORAC palette.
